The native tool
Creator income records, not a tax return.
For creator taxes, start with dated income records you can reconcile—not just a wallet balance. Chatalystar’s private Creator Portal → Earnings → Taxes helps authorized creators prepare records of their Chatalystar earnings. It is one input to preparation, not a determination of taxable income.
Choose your reporting year
Select a calendar year and explicitly confirm USD or CAD. Reports use January 1 at 00:00 UTC through January 1 of the next year, exclusive. Your professional may need a different tax-period treatment.
See the evidence behind the totals
Review monthly and income-category summaries, documented proceeds, adjustments and transaction references. Missing gross, fee or collaborator-split evidence is marked unavailable, not guessed.
Keep historical valuation details
Reports retain effective dates, sources, methods and rates. Missing prices, uncertain classifications and partial history remain flagged for review; incomplete records are not certified complete.
Take CSV and PDF copies
Export dated line items as CSV and a readable PDF summary from the same saved report dataset. Both preserve the reporting period, currency, methodology and review status.
Confirmed Chatalystar receipts are reconciled across authorized creator identity and wallet history, including archived wallets. Pending, failed, duplicate and unresolved records do not inflate confirmed totals. Supported rewards and referrals are separate categories—not automatically fan sales. A missing record or rate still needs investigation.
Fees are not all yours to claim. A customer-paid contribution is not a creator-borne expense. Standard listed-price sales use a separate member contribution on top; documented creator costs, collaborator splits, funding, network or cash-out costs are different. The report does not invent costs or determine whether any cost is deductible.
Before filing
A practical creator tax-preparation checklist.
Keep a separate, backed-up record set for each platform and year, then reconcile your complete business activity with a qualified professional. This also helps influencers managing sponsorships, affiliate income or non-cash compensation; those outside earnings are not captured by Chatalystar.
- Gather income evidence. Keep platform statements, applicable tax forms, invoices, subscriptions, tips, refunds, adjustments and payment confirmations. Retain original files as well as exports.
- Reconcile money movements. Match receipts to transaction references and bank or wallet records. Separate proceeds from customer charges, platform fees and transfers of money you already earned.
- Document possible expenses. Store receipts and business-purpose notes outside this tool. Ask about mixed personal/business use, equipment and local deduction rules before claiming anything.
- Resolve gaps before relying on totals. Review missing history, unknown classifications and unavailable rates. Provide the review notes and methodology with the CSV/PDF—not just a headline total.
- Confirm the right obligations. Discuss residency, business structure, reporting periods, income tax, estimated payments or instalments, sales taxes and record retention with your adviser.

Location matters
Influencer taxes in Canada and the USA.
Canada: income and GST/HST are distinct
The CRA says Canadian-resident influencers must report monetary and non-monetary business income earned in Canada and abroad. Its guide distinguishes individual self-employment reporting from incorporated businesses. Non-residents have different rules, including possible treaty considerations.
GST/HST registration, collection and remittance may also apply. Review the CRA’s registration rules rather than assuming a platform’s checkout tax handles your obligations. Your total activity, type of supply and circumstances matter; USD/CAD report selection does not establish residency or GST/HST status.

USA: records even without a 1099
The IRS says gig income must be reported even when no information form arrives. Self-employed creators may owe income and self-employment tax and may need estimated payments. A platform’s information-reporting threshold is separate from your filing obligations.
Ask a qualified adviser which federal forms and state or local rules apply, particularly with multiple platforms, a separate entity or cross-border activity. A Chatalystar report is not a 1099, W-2 or completed return.

Common preparation questions
Researching OnlyFans taxes? Start with the records.
Questions about taxes for OnlyFans often overlap with other creator businesses. The answers below explain preparation and point to official guidance; they do not connect OnlyFans to Chatalystar, replace its current policies or provide a personalized filing walkthrough.
Do creators have to file taxes, even without a tax form?
Do not treat a missing form as proof that income is tax-free. The IRS says gig income must be reported even without a 1099; its guidance generally requires a return at $400 or more in net self-employment earnings. Other filing rules can apply below that amount. The CRA says Canadian-resident influencers must report monetary and non-monetary business income from inside and outside Canada. Residency, business structure and other income affect your obligations. A platform reporting threshold is not a personal tax-free allowance.

Does OnlyFans take out taxes for you?
Do not assume your personal income tax has been paid. OnlyFans’ Tax Policy makes creators responsible for required filings and tax on creator earnings. It says taxes may be charged on fan payments and information may be reported to tax authorities, depending on location, transaction and law. Tax charged to a fan, information reporting and withholding from a creator are different things. Check your actual statements, current policy and local rules with a professional; this guide does not establish whether a particular tax was withheld or remitted for your account.

How should I organize records before filing OnlyFans taxes?
Export statements from OnlyFans itself and retain applicable tax forms, sales and tip records, refunds, platform charges and payout histories. Reconcile those records to bank deposits without counting a payout and its underlying earnings twice. Keep other platforms separate, then give your professional the full picture across platforms. Chatalystar does not retrieve or import OnlyFans records and is not affiliated with OnlyFans.

What business type or description should a creator use?
Describe your actual work accurately. There is no universal business label or form choice for every creator, influencer or adult-content business. The CRA describes influencer business income as self-employment income for individuals and distinguishes incorporated businesses. The IRS gig-work guide points self-employed individuals to Schedule C and Schedule SE where applicable. Ask a professional to confirm your status, forms and business classification rather than copying another creator’s category.

Can I write off clothing, equipment or other creator expenses?
Not automatically. Keep the receipt, date, business purpose and any personal-use allocation for professional review. Clothing, beauty costs, equipment, home space and subscriptions can have different rules; equipment may require capital-cost or depreciation treatment rather than an immediate deduction. The CRA requires qualifying business expenses to be reasonable and directly related to earning influencer income. The IRS allows certain expenses under its business-expense rules. Ask a Canadian tax professional or US CPA, enrolled agent or other qualified adviser what applies to you. This tool does not track expenses or decide deductions.

Can Chatalystar file my return or send it to TurboTax?
No. CSV and PDF exports are bookkeeping records, not tax returns, official forms or a supported TurboTax integration. Filing complexity depends on your residence, business, other income and transactions. Use current official filing guidance, your chosen filing software’s instructions and qualified help as needed. A Chatalystar export covers only Chatalystar activity, not your complete tax affairs.

Receipts ≠ transfers ≠ dispositions
Crypto income taxes need more than a withdrawal total.
Separate why you received a crypto-asset from what you later did with it. The IRS treats digital assets, including stablecoins, as property for US tax purposes. The CRA asks for transaction details and Canadian-dollar values. Not every incoming wallet transfer is a sale or an earning.
- Receiving platform income
- A payment for services or content is different from moving assets you already own. Preserve the receipt date, asset units, classification and fiat-value evidence. Rewards and other receipts need their own classification.
- Historical fiat valuation
- USDC is not guaranteed to equal exactly USD 1. Chatalystar uses a historical daily USDC/USD market-price snapshot near 12:00 UTC and, for CAD, Bank of Canada daily indicative USD/CAD rates, with a preceding observation within seven days where available. This is a bookkeeping approximation, not the exact price at every receipt time or a tax-authority-approved valuation. Saved reports retain provenance; missing inputs remain unavailable. Ask your adviser whether another method is required.
- Transfers and withdrawals
- Moving your own assets between wallets or withdrawing already-recorded earnings is not a second Chatalystar earning. Keep transfer evidence. A withdrawal that includes an exchange or sale must be distinguished from a simple transfer. The IRS also notes that paying a fee with digital assets can be a disposition.
- Later sales, swaps or spending
- A later disposition can require separate gain/loss or business-income analysis, depending on jurisdiction and circumstances. Keep acquisition values, disposal records, fees and wallet history outside this tool. Chatalystar does not calculate capital gains, cost basis across your holdings or tax owed.
